Tromasterpiece Theatre - The Battle Of Love's Return
Released in 1971, Lloyd Kaufman's first major film, The Battle Of Love's Return was unleashed on the general public and told the story of a
young man who was fired from his job for failing to deliver a package.
This man did not become the founder of Fedex or DHL, but he did go on an EPIC journey to find himself, encountering various characters on the way, including a priest and the owner of a pornographic bookstore.
Fast forward to 2017, theatre usher Addison and his friends Corny and Reelie (a talking popcorn box and film reel), watch and riff this creation on the big screen.
Tromasterpiece Theatre - The Battle Of Love's Return, is no doubt one of the strangest ways you will ever watch a movie......
For anyone not familiar with the creator's work (Addison Binek) and his homage to Mystery Science Theater 3000, imagine sitting at the movies and a group of friends in front of you constantly talk over the movie, spilling popcorn, and even worse get up several times and leave during the screening, pausing the feature on show. What could be worse........? Well in this case, nothing!
Tromasterpiece Theatre - The Battle Of Love's Return, has achieved what should be the impossible, by improving a Lloyd Kaufman release! The B knows this is blasphemous in the B-Movie world and should be a hanging offence, however as this was Uncle Lloyd's first release with many, many classics to follow, we think we should just about get away with this comment.
With many witty one liners and comments keeping you entertained during the onscreen shenanigans by Lloyd as he bounces his way around New York, and the cutaway scenes providing a welcome distraction should your full focus and attention return to the movie on show, Tromasterpiece Theatre makes a very enjoyable, silhouetted worthy watch.
