Released in 2018, Entanglement, Whilst searching for the meaning of his existence and after several failed suicide attempts, Ben discovers that he very nearly almost had an adopted sister. With the help of his neighbour Tabby, Ben sets out to find his not-quite sibling in an effort to find out if his life could have been different.
He finally tracks down his would-be sister, the mysterious Hanna and stumbles upon a very different relationship than he’d been hoping for. Dragged by Hanna into an exciting world of adventure, wonder and the seemingly impossible, Ben is forced to confront some dark truths as he faces the possibility that everything he thinks he knows about himself, and about Hanna, just isn’t real… and that life and love, is a lot more complicated than he ever imagined.
Entanglement, not the “norm” for a B Club review, mental health is not our usual choice of monster! That said, what is offered is a thought provoking, enjoyable movie, tackling a difficult subject matter in a very entertaining format.
As we follow Ben’s story as he ponders life’s choices and wonders what could and maybe should have been, you can’t help but become emotionally involved with the character as he searches for his almost sister. We then share Ben’s joy as Hanna reintroduces him to something he’s long since forgotten.............life, but for how long? Can he continue living his almost fantasy lifestyle, or will reality come crashing down around him?
Filmed with a good balance of humour, romance and drama, what the writer, cast and crew have developed here is a movie not to be missed.
“Just let go” and allow this Indie release to take you on an unforgettable journey.
Sometimes a movie is not just a movie, it’s an experience.
