The Misandrists

Released in 2018, The Misandrists, known as The Female Liberation Army, sees two of their members stumbling upon a male leftist, injured and on the run from the law. Taking pity on him and against all the rules, they take him in and hide him in the basement of their dwelling.

The radical group, are a united and federated grouping of members of different races, underclasses and socialistic political parties of the oppressed female peoples of all nations. Under the guidance of Big Mother, their lesbian separatist leader, they're on a mission and declare a revolutionary war against the fascist capitalist and largely heterosexual classes, to usher in a female world order,

However, the man in the basement is just one of many secrets threatening to disrupt the FLA’s mission from within.

The Misandrists, on paper a great story, giving off a "The Beguiled" vibe in a very modern and unique way. Very quickly into the film, without breaking our promise of spoiler free reviews, it does seem that the creators are more interested in attempting to shock the viewer, rather than work on the development of the real meaning behind the film and the actual story.

Setting aside the "shock" factor, the story doesn't really go anywhere, a revolution from a liberation army.......blink and you'll miss it.

On the plus side, there are some stunning visuals and seriously good character progression, and includes a twist that is quite eye catching for anyone who once again, has avoided the many spoilers out there.

So should you watch it? The B says yes, we're sure there is a market for this kind of cinematic experience, where it's sits on the shelf, now that's a question.......probably somewhere between the art-house and porno categories, but definitely not with either.

The Misandrists, give it a go......maybe just the once.
