Book Of Monsters

Sophie's 18th birthday becomes a bloodbath when monsters descend upon her house and start to devour the party guests. Sophie and her friends must rally together to send their party crashers back to hell.

Turning eighteen is going to be hell.

See if you can think of the worst birthday party you could have (Jelly and embarrassing parents in my case) and then see how it matches this 18th party! Book Of Monsters will probably win.....or lose!

Let’s start with the poster for this film, it is very eye-catching and gives an excellent idea of what to expect with a very 80’s aura of it. Love the artwork.

The cast is solid and we follow Sophie (Craine) as her night goes from bad to worse. You do find yourself invested in the character and we hope she can somehow make it through with the help of her friends.  The script is quick-fire and delivered at a pace that never lets up and keeps a smile on your face with comedic moments throughout, such as an on-going joke centered around a character called Gary and some witty one-liners.

The highlight of Book Of Monsters are the creatures and demons that have been created, the design and make-up of them really elevate this movie. If you love 80’s demon-type gore this will tick all the boxes, being a creature feature with nods to what has gone before whilst throwing lots of gore at your eye-balls as characters get killed with screams galore.

Book Of Monsters is an ideal movie to watch on a Saturday night, a fun British 80s style monster horror movie with a good cast, old school special effects and some amusing kills, reminiscent of when we used to hire video tapes from a video store.......

A great reminder of the non-CGI good old days......oh I miss those days!
